About this project

I was tasked with helping Fidelity start offering Simulated Trading for all users. Fidelity is one of the few financial companies to not have a full simulated trading functionality, so upon taking this up our goal was to not only get this set up, but also improve on all the existing experiences. We broke down what the fundamental concept of Simulated Trading is, and that's learning. The main goal of anyone attending this is to learn how to do a specific task surrounding trading, so we wanted to have our project be focused on learning. Based off the existing Fidelity Portfolio Summary page, we wanted to create cards that could easily help users learn how to trade more effectively.

In the above screenshot, which took place after months of testing, we decided to not only include some high level learning type materials but also include a checklists for newer users to complete to learn about things they should know before making their first real trade, a link for webinars for all users to get deeper dives on specific projects, and finally incorporating ways for users to find and compare stocks easily on their own.

Other Card Ideas

The below cards were other ideas that were in the works as well to potentially be featured in the Simulated Trading experience. These didn't test as highly as the above cards, but still we felt these had some potential down the road for MVP2+ categories.
